Is the BMO AIR MILES Mastercard accepted at Costco Canada?

Yes. Both no-annual-fee BMO AIR MILES Mastercard versions (standard and student) are accepted at Costco Canada warehouses and Costco gas bars, since Costco Canada accepts the Mastercard network. You will earn 1 mile per $25 spent at Costco, but Costco is not an AIR MILES partner, so you will not get the 3X bonus there. Many cardholders pair this card with a higher-earning grocery card to maximize Costco purchases while keeping the BMO card active for AIR MILES partner runs at Sobeys, Metro Quebec, Rexall, and Shell.

What is the minimum income required for the no-fee BMO AIR MILES Mastercard?

The no-fee BMO AIR MILES Mastercard does not have a published minimum personal or household income requirement, which makes it accessible for new credit users, students, and newcomers to Canada. BMO will still review your credit score, existing debt, and Canadian credit history before approval. The student version of the same card is specifically designed for full-time post-secondary students and accepts income from part-time jobs or scholarships, with the same 1 mile per $25 earning rate and the same access to AIR MILES Gold status.

What happens to my BMO AIR MILES when AIR MILES becomes Recompenses Bleu?

BMO has confirmed that all AIR MILES balances will convert to the new Recompenses Bleu program in summer 2026 at an equivalent value, with no expiry of existing miles during the migration.
