Want to get your hands on some Air France reward tickets, but don’t have enough Flying Blue Miles in the bank? Don’t get discouraged. Air France allows its loyal passengers to buy Flying Blue Miles at any time of the year, for an approximate value of 3 cents USD. Air France sometimes puts special offers online to make buying Miles even more profitable. Until April 16, 2026, enjoy up to 45% off when purchasing Miles.
Here is the current rebate chart for the purchase of Miles:
Please note that the discount in Miles is targeted and may vary for each Flying Blue member.
Thus, by purchasing 100,000 Flying Blue Miles with a 45% discount by April 16, 2026, you will pay USD 1,677.50 (approximately EUR 1,435 or approximately CAD 2,305), instead of USD 3,050.
This is equivalent to 1.68 cent USD per mile.
To purchase Flying Blue Miles, you must first be a Flying Blue member. Registration is free and is done online on the loyalty program website.
Once you are registered and have your Flying Blue membership number, you must go to the Buy Miles page on the Flying Blue website to proceed with the purchase. You will not be able to view this page unless you are a member.
You can purchase Flying Blue Miles in increments of 2,000, between 2,000 and 100,000 Flying Blue Miles. When there is no promotion, the value of a Mile is equivalent to 3 cents USD.
Miles are credited to your account within 72 hours of purchase, and you have 14 days to cancel your purchase.
For Canadians, since the purchase of Flying Blue miles is billed in US dollars, we recommended to use a credit card with no conversion fees for this transaction.
As the transaction is carried out by Points.com (a Canadian company), taxes are also applied to this purchase.
If you have a U.S. credit card and/or a U.S. address, use it to avoid paying taxes.
Regarding American Express Membership Rewards, the transfer rate is 1,000 Membership Rewards points = 1,000 Flying Blue Miles.

Is it worth buying Flying Blue miles?
As with any miles and points purchase, this will depend on the circumstances. But with a discount of up to 45%, like right now, and a specific trip coming up, it can be an interesting option. You’ll need to decide based on the reward flights you plan to book soon.
The Flying Blue program does not have a fixed fare structure, but it is possible to get good deals via the Flying Blue Promo Rewards, a monthly event offering savings of up to 50% on reward tickets.
For example, when Montreal was on promotion in June 2023, I was able to treat myself to four round-trip flights between Amsterdam and Montreal for just 45,000 Flying Blue Miles + 464 euros in taxes. Plus, when you book with Flying Blue Miles, your first piece of luggage is included, which is not necessarily the case with paid fares.
So buying Flying Blue Miles can be a great way to get your hands on reward tickets in certain situations!
