It is your responsibility to read all the fine print.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-air-canada\">Air Canada<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To benefit from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aircanada.com\/ca\/fr\/aco\/home\/plan\/special-assistance\/bereavement-fares.html#\/\">Air Canada&#8217;s family emergency travel policy<\/a>, travel must take place outside North America on Air Canada,<a href=\"https:\/\/mp-2702.milesopedia.dev\/en\/reviews\/flights\/air-canada-premium-rouge-montreal-orlando\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Air Canada Rouge<\/a>, Air Canada Express or with a multiple code through their airline partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First, call <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aircanada.com\/ca\/fr\/aco\/home\/fly\/customer-support.html#\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Air Canada<\/a> toll-free at 1-888-247-2262 to book a future flight with a family emergency fare. Only the Basic Economy, Standard, Flex Economy, Comfort and Latitude fares are available. The trip must be taken within 10 days of booking and for a maximum of 60 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then, no later than 7 days after the traveler&#8217;s return home, an e-mail must be sent by the traveler to <strong>Bereavement@AirCanada.ca<\/strong> with the proof of death requested in the initial call. Otherwise, you will have to pay the difference in price compared with the rate in effect on the day of booking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note that there are no refunds for trips already taken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-air-france\">Air France<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/wwws.airfrance.ca\/information\/faqs\/reservation\/tarifs\">Air France offers a reduced fare for the death of a family<\/a> member. This is only valid for travel between mainland France and Martinique, Guadeloupe, Reunion or French Guiana. You should call them on +33 9 69 39 36 54.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-air-transat\">Air Transat<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"\/?p=318670\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Air Transat<\/a> does not offer special fares for family emergencies and deaths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-alaska-airlines\">Alaska Airlines<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.alaskaair.com\/content\/travel-info\/bereavement-fare\">Alaska Airlines and its Bereavement Fare policy offers a 10% discount<\/a> on the lowest airfare in effect at the time of the call. You must call them at 1-800-252-7522 to reserve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-calm-air\">Calm Air<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In Manitoba and Nunavut, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.calmair.com\/fr\/special-offers\/compassionate-travel\">Calm Air offers a discount for round-trip travel in the event of a family emergency<\/a>. You absolutely must call their Customer Service department at 1-800-839-2256.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-delta-airlines\">Delta Airlines<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Members of the Delta Airlines SkyMiles loyalty program (free enrolment) are eligible for a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/fr.delta.com\/fr\/fr\/special-circumstances\/bereavement-fares\">rate that offers flexibility and avoids the need to pay certain service charges<\/a>. Buying a plane ticket for an unforeseen reason won&#8217;t necessarily be cheaper, but it will give you greater flexibility during this difficult time. Only Econo and EconoFlex fares are available for this special price, and only for WestJet Rewards members (free registration).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Or you can apply for a fare after the trip. Up to 7 days after travel, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westjet.com\/fr-ca\/vols\/deuil#bereavement-request\">refund request<\/a> can be made using a form on the WestJet website. If accepted, a credit will be issued to the <a href=\"https:\/\/mp-2702.milesopedia.dev\/en\/reward-program\/westjet-rewards\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WestJet Rewards<\/a> account.
