However, Air France Canada allowed us priority access to the aircraft in order to take pictures of the cabin. A big thank you to Air France!<\/p>\n\n\t<\/div>\n<\/aside>\n\n\n\n<p>To make this trip, which was a one-way trip &#8211; my return was scheduled on Swiss with Aeroplan miles &#8211; I used Flying Blue miles with a Promo Awards promotion, as there are every month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My business class ticket on Air France cost <strong>39,750 miles and $324.39<\/strong> in taxes and surcharges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NB: the carrier surcharge counts here for $268.48: this is less than what Air Canada charges for a business class ticket on Aeroplan, but it is still high for an award ticket!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mp-2702.milesopedia.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/air-france-flying-blue-billet-audrey.png\" alt=\"air france flying blue ticket audrey\" class=\"wp-image-31578\" title=\"air france flying blue ticket audrey\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Note that in business class, you can bring 2 suitcases of 32 kgs, which is convenient for Europeans who regularly go back and forth to see their family!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And <strong>I was careful to book my ticket on a flight equipped with the new generation Business cabin<\/strong>, the BEST cabin (which offers sleeping chairs as well as direct aisle access for all seats).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To earn Flying Blue miles:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"component component__list\"><ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Either you travel regularly on Skyteam member airlines (Air France-KLM, Delta&#8230;)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Either you have<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\/?p=8750\"> US credit cards<\/a> that allow you to transfer your points into Flying Blue miles<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Either <a href=\"https:\/\/mp-2702.milesopedia.dev\/en\/guide\/tutorials\/liste-principaux-programmes-transfert-points-canada\/\">you transfer Marriott Bonvoy points into Flying Blue miles<\/a> (60,000 Marriott Bonvoy points = 25,000 Flying Blue miles)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a class=\"thirstylink\" title=\"Points.com\" href=\"https:\/\/mp-2702.milesopedia.dev\/en\/go\/points\/\">You<\/a> can either <a class=\"thirstylink\" title=\"Points.com\" href=\"https:\/\/mp-2702.milesopedia.dev\/en\/go\/points\/\">buy Flying Blue miles with Points.<\/a>com<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Or you can get lucky and take advantage of the only day when American Express Canada Membership Rewards points transfers were available to Flying Blue&#8230;!<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>This last option was ours (and at a 1:1 transfer rate&#8230;)! It was a mistake&#8230; American Express Canada officially replied, to our regret.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mp-2702.milesopedia.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/afklm-et-amex.jpg\" alt=\"afklm and amex\" class=\"wp-image-27555\" title=\"AFKLM and amex\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>We still hope that Flying Blue will become a true transfer partner of American Express Canada as it is in the United States!  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Especially since Air France has a large French diaspora in Canada that would be delighted to be able to earn Flying Blue miles via American Express!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-air-france-lounge-at-montreal-trudeau-yul\">The Air France lounge at Montreal-Trudeau YUL<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>After my quick passage through security, I went directly to the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.admtl.com\/fr\/shopping\/services\/air-france-klm-lounge\/http\/wwwairfranceca\">Air France lounge<\/a> counter (at gate 57) where I was immediately received by G\u00e9rald, the Air France Flight Manager \/ Station Manager in Montreal. I received a very nice welcome &#8211; more than warm &#8211; with a presentation of the lounge which was well filled (hence the few pictures I could take so as not to disturb the other passengers).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A lounge that is both relaxing and friendly in a refined, sober, but somewhat cold atmosphere related to the presence of aluminum counters and neon lights. The presentation of the dishes could be improved in order to make it more neat. However, the team is very attentive at the reception and in the kitchen and everything necessary is there:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Waiting area, catering, checkroom, office etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mp-2702.milesopedia.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/salon-air-france-yul-4.jpg\" alt=\"air france yul 4 lounge\" class=\"wp-image-31499\" title=\"Salon-Air-France-YUL-4\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The lounge is composed of 2 distinct spaces, a space for snacking, refueling with different facilities (high, classic or low tables).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An interesting choice of cold\/hot drinks, alcohols and snacks was proposed, as well as a selection of newspapers and magazines (+ Air France Press).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mp-2702.milesopedia.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/salon-air-france-yul-3.jpg\" alt=\"air france yul 3 lounge\" class=\"wp-image-31498\" title=\"Salon-Air-France-YUL-3\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mp-2702.milesopedia.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/salon-air-france-yul-2.jpg\" alt=\"air france yul 2 lounge\" class=\"wp-image-31497\" title=\"Salon-Air-France-YUL-2\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mp-2702.milesopedia.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/salon-air-france-yul-1.jpg\" alt=\"air france yul 1 lounge\" class=\"wp-image-31496\" title=\"Salon-Air-France-YUL-1\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mp-2702.milesopedia.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/salon-air-france-yul-9.jpg\" alt=\"air france yul 9 lounge\" class=\"wp-image-31503\" title=\"Salon-Air-France-YUL-9\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Also appreciated is a dedicated work area with printer.  <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">There is also a separate, quieter area for people who want to be alone or to rest.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mp-2702.milesopedia.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/salon-air-france-yul-5.jpg\" alt=\"air france yul 5 lounge\" class=\"wp-image-31500\" title=\"Salon-Air-France-YUL-5\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In both cases, there is something for everyone if you want to observe the planes&#8230; including mine tonight, a Boeing 777-200:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mp-2702.milesopedia.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/salon-air-france-yul-7.jpg\" alt=\"air france yul 7 lounge\" class=\"wp-image-31501\" title=\"Salon-Air-France-YUL-7\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-air-france-in-business-class-on-montreal-paris\">Air France in business class on Montreal &#8211; Paris<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The station manager came back to me to take me to the gates of the Air France flight. I was able to attend the last operations before the boarding of the passengers, to discover all the crew and the new interior of this Boeing 777-200 which can embark nearly 400 people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I had the right to the backstage of a boarding, meticulously prepared by the ground team and on board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mp-2702.milesopedia.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/air-france-yul-cdg-business-best-21.jpg\" alt=\"air france yul cdg business best 21\" class=\"wp-image-31524\" title=\"Air-France-YUL-CDG-Business-Best-21\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-my-cab-tour-and-thanks\">My cab tour and thanks<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>I had the honor of being introduced to the whole crew: imagine my luck to meet each crew member as well as the Captain and his Co-pilot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mp-2702.milesopedia.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/air-france-yul-cdg-business-best-20.jpg\" alt=\"air france yul cdg business best 20\" class=\"wp-image-31523\" title=\"Air-France-YUL-CDG-Business-Best-20\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mp-2702.milesopedia.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/air-france-yul-cdg-business-best-22.jpg\" alt=\"air france yul cdg business best 22\" class=\"wp-image-31525\" title=\"Air-France-YUL-CDG-Business-Best-22\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I was able to visit the different sections of the aircraft including the cockpit with the graceful permission to stay a while, observe, understand the organization of the dashboard and talk about the flight planning with programming of the itinerary and fuel check.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mp-2702.milesopedia.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/air-france-yul-cdg-business-best-24.jpg\" alt=\"air france yul cdg business best 24\" class=\"wp-image-31527\" title=\"Air-France-YUL-CDG-Business-Best-24\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>So here is my turn in the cabin, before the other passengers board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-air-france-economy-class\">Air France economy class<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>In this B777-200, the economy class is divided into rows of 3-4-3. The space is optimized to the maximum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mp-2702.milesopedia.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/air-france-yul-cdg-business-best-5.jpg\" alt=\"air france yul cdg business best 5\" class=\"wp-image-31508\" title=\"Air-France-YUL-CDG-Business-Best-5\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>With large screens of 9 inches, which is a clear improvement compared to other devices <a href=\"https:\/\/mp-2702.milesopedia.dev\/en\/reviews\/flights\/montreal-paris-economy-air-france-af347\/\">as Jean-Maximilien has tested a few years<\/a> ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mp-2702.milesopedia.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/air-france-yul-cdg-business-best-8.jpg\" alt=\"air france yul cdg business best 8\" class=\"wp-image-31511\" title=\"Air-France-YUL-CDG-Business-Best-8\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>A pillow and blanket are available at each seat:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mp-2702.milesopedia.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/air-france-yul-cdg-business-best-11.jpg\" alt=\"air france yul cdg business best 11\" class=\"wp-image-31514\" title=\"Air-France-YUL-CDG-Business-Best-11\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mp-2702.milesopedia.dev\/avis\/produits\/test-de-valise-away-valise-premiere-classe-prix-de-classe-eco\/\">Away cases<\/a> fit easily into the luggage compartments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mp-2702.milesopedia.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/air-france-yul-cdg-business-best-6.jpg\" alt=\"air france yul cdg business best 6\" class=\"wp-image-31509\" title=\"Air-France-YUL-CDG-Business-Best-6\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I like the stitching on the seats, even in eco:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mp-2702.milesopedia.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/air-france-yul-cdg-business-best-7.jpg\" alt=\"air france yul cdg business best 7\" class=\"wp-image-31510\" title=\"Air-France-YUL-CDG-Business-Best-7\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>If you must travel economy on this type of aircraft, I recommend the emergency exit row with plenty of legroom (note also the electrical outlets available at each seat).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mp-2702.milesopedia.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/air-france-yul-cdg-business-best-9.jpg\" alt=\"air france yul cdg business best 9\" class=\"wp-image-31512\" title=\"Air-France-YUL-CDG-Business-Best-9\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are traveling with a baby, this is the row to hang the bassinet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mp-2702.milesopedia.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/air-france-yul-cdg-business-best-10.jpg\" alt=\"air france yul cdg business best 10\" class=\"wp-image-31513\" title=\"Air-France-YUL-CDG-Business-Best-10\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-air-france-s-premium-economy-class\">Air France&#8217;s premium economy class<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Let&#8217;s move on to Air France&#8217;s &#8220;Premium Economy&#8221; class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They are shell chairs, which allows not to disturb the passengers behind \/ be disturbed by those in front. In addition, not all passengers had direct access to the corridor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here, thanks to the recent &#8220;BEST&#8221; cabins that are gradually being deployed in the fleet, <strong>all passengers have direct access to the corridor<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mp-2702.milesopedia.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/air-france-yul-cdg-business-best-12.jpg\" alt=\"air france yul cdg business best 12\" class=\"wp-image-31515\" title=\"Air-France-YUL-CDG-Business-Best-12\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>We are on Air France with &#8220;Blue \/ White \/ Red&#8221; colors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mp-2702.milesopedia.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/air-france-yul-cdg-business-best-16.jpg\" alt=\"air france yul cdg business best 16\" class=\"wp-image-31519\" title=\"Air-France-YUL-CDG-Business-Best-16\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Personally, I found the cabin rather aesthetic, with the feeling of being in a cocoon. Our movements can be wide, but when we are standing in the hallway, we find ourselves a bit cramped to move around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mp-2702.milesopedia.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/air-france-yul-cdg-business-best-26.jpg\" alt=\"air france yul cdg business best 26\" class=\"wp-image-31529\" title=\"Air-France-YUL-CDG-Business-Best-26\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-chair\">The chair<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Once seated, I appreciate discovering an ottoman with a very large foot space: unlike other companies where the feet are locked in a &#8220;box&#8221;, here you keep the freedom of movement, especially when you turn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Small regret compared to other business classes, I do not find full support when I try to extend my seat; the legs remain in the void until you move to the bed position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mp-2702.milesopedia.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/air-france-yul-cdg-business-best-28.jpg\" alt=\"air france yul cdg business best 28\" class=\"wp-image-31531\" title=\"Air-France-YUL-CDG-Business-Best-28\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>On the side of the seat are the adjustments for the different positions. However, I find them rather awkwardly placed, having a tendency to inadvertently activate them by resting my arm on these buttons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The counter is however big enough to arrange my things. The dining shelf is hidden under this counter and easy to unfold. seat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, <strong>this chair is very comfortable <\/strong>(even more than the Etihad First bed on A380&#8230; that&#8217;s saying something!), so the mattress topper is not necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" since removed from the fleet).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since then, Air France has considerably improved its business class <a href=\"https:\/\/mp-2702.milesopedia.dev\/en\/reviews\/flights\/paris-montreal-air-canada-business-class-aeroplan\/\">to compete with Air Canada, especially on the Paris-Montreal route<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both the service on board and the product provided are of high quality.
