They are part of the UNESCO World Heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mp-2702.milesopedia.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/00-chutes-victoria.jpg\" alt=\"Victoria Falls: Travel guide | Itineraries and Must-See information - victoria falls\" class=\"wp-image-170395\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-planning\">Planning<\/h2>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>Located in the heart of Africa, the Zambezi River flows through a 1,700m wide fissure giving us a captivating spectacle. This river is a natural border between Zambia and <strong>Zimbabwe<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mp-2702.milesopedia.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/01-fleuve-zambezi.jpg\" alt=\"Victoria Falls: Travel guide | Itineraries and Must-See information - Zambezi River\" class=\"wp-image-170399\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>You can access it from two airports, but the city of interest is Livingstone in Zambia. I recommend that you stay there. So we have a more global view. There is a unique trail to follow to view the falls. We spent half a day there and that was enough in my opinion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mp-2702.milesopedia.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/04-cote-Zimbabwe.jpg\" alt=\"Victoria Falls: Travel guide | Itineraries and Must-See information - Zimbabwe side\" class=\"wp-image-170405\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>To get a better idea of their scale, you can get close to them on the Zambian side. This is also the most developed and most touristic side. That&#8217;s where you can find operators to book activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mp-2702.milesopedia.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/05-cote-zambie.jpg\" alt=\"Victoria Falls: Travel guide | Itineraries and Must-See information - zambia side\" class=\"wp-image-170407\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I also recommend a helicopter ride to see the entire Zambezi River as it flows by. There is no consensus on the best time to go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although it may seem illogical to go see the waterfalls at a time when they would be at their driest, the activities that allow us to fully enjoy the falls are only available when the water levels are lower.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mp-2702.milesopedia.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/09-fleuve-zambezi-en-saison-seche.jpg\" alt=\"Victoria Falls: Travel guide | Itineraries and Must-See information - zambezi river in dry season\" class=\"wp-image-170415\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mp-2702.milesopedia.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/09-saison-seche.jpg\" alt=\"Victoria Falls: Travel guide | Itineraries and Must-See information - dry season\" class=\"wp-image-170417\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"component component__list\"><ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>January to March<\/strong>: rainy season.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>February to May<\/strong>: the falls are at their heaviest flow following the rainy season.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>October to December<\/strong>: dry season is the best time to do activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>So there is no bad weather to visit Livingstone, it depends on what you would like to do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There were a range of activities available in Livingstone, the most popular are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"component component__list\"><ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>whiteriver rafting<\/em>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>bungee jump (from the bridge linking the two countries),<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Devil&#8217;s Pool,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>canoe on the Zambezi.<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>I recommend you, without hesitation, to take a dip in Devil&#8217;s pool! Only between October and December when the water level allows it of course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the low flow season, the falls are sometimes reduced to only a few cascades, apart from each other. So there are paths to get there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mp-2702.milesopedia.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/10-Devils-Pool.jpg\" alt=\"Victoria Falls: Travel guide | Itineraries and Must-See information - Devils Pool\" class=\"wp-image-170419\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In my experience, Devil&#8217;s Pool is still a safe activity, but it&#8217;s not completely risk-free either. You have to go with guides from a reputable company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This was the <em>highlight<\/em> of my trip to Zambia, but I must admit that I never dared to show these pictures to my parents&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mp-2702.milesopedia.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/11-sur-le-bord-de-la-piscine.jpg\" alt=\"Victoria Falls: Travel guide | Itineraries and Must-See information - on the edge of the pool\" class=\"wp-image-170421\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mp-2702.milesopedia.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/12.On-the-Edge.jpg\" alt=\"Victoria Falls: Travel guide | Itineraries and Must-See information - .On the Edge\" class=\"wp-image-170423\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>At the limit of this natural pool, there is a 1.5m wide edge that prevents us from being swept away by the current. There are plenty of taxis that can take you from one side of the border to the other so choose the airport that suits you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In my case, my visit to Victoria Falls was an extension of my trip to South Africa and the Okavango Delta in Botswana. The facilities were super clean and there was a common area with a very good restaurant. Youth hostel <em>vibes<\/em>, after all! I will definitely go back!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mp-2702.milesopedia.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/14-fin.jpg\" alt=\"Victoria Falls: Travel guide | Itineraries and Must-See information - end\" class=\"wp-image-170427\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n<aside class=\"component component__notice component__notice--info wp-block-milesgutenberg-notice\">\n\t\t\t\t<i class=\"fas fa-info-circle\"><\/i>\n\t\t<div class=\"component__notice__content\">\n\t\t\t\t\n\n<p>Visas are available on arrival in Zambia and Zimbabwe for Canadians. As for <a href=\"https:\/\/mp-2702.milesopedia.dev\/en\/best-credit-cards-in-canada\/\">credit cards<\/a>, they are accepted almost everywhere in Livingstone.
